There's (still) No Place Like Home

I'm home...again. And I somehow feel this strange letdown. I was greeted by a houseful of about ten teenage boys...got hugs from every single one of them. And a collective sigh of relief from my boys that they no longer have to be in charge of food, laundry, dishes.

Have a serious writer's block. Hoping the normalcy of being home will kick start the creative juices. At least I have some great stories to read! And from the looks of things, I need to catch up in the forums too!

And so you know that I have been working on Dark December, I am going to give you a glimpse of one of my newest characters who will be introduced most likely in chapter six. I will warn you he is not a pleasant man and vexes me almost as much as Agnes. So far all I have done with him is house him and study his personality (yes, he actually has one, a very strong one). All right, I've studied a few other things but we won't talk about that here...

All I will say is that he is intriguing and somewhat disturbing to me. I had envisioned him in a completely different way but this is who I ended up with. Apparently he came from the deep, dark recesses of my subconscious.

  1. He's beautiful!
Mysterious, dark... no, I definitely wouldn't like to meet him late at night in a dark alleyway or something like that.
I can't wait to find out what you've got in store for us! I just know it's gonna be worth the wait - however impatient I may get.

  2. Thank you Leah. He really was a surprise. He is going to be interesting to watch. Unfortunately he is part of the story that cannot yet be told which is why I need to complete chapter 5.

I am looking forward to his entrance however.

  3. I think I ran into him in one of my nightmares.

You got him down perfectly. He wouldn't be the same without the hair!

  4. Yes Beth you pegged him exactly! That man has a demon that dwells inside him.

He is black and frightening. Hard to believe he ended up where he did in the story.

  5. thud factor: about 5 on the thud scale. extra points for hot body. deleting 2 points for "bad dreams".

  7. LOL! Are we talking out of a possible 10? I can post a shot of him that will get the thud factor going....

  8. Ok ok, I'll upgrade to an 8. LOL! I'm trying hard NOT to grade on a curve!!

Smacking self!! Except you get the 10 all the time all to yourself, so it's kind of hard to grade against that.

  9. So true but they broke the mold with him. Although you have a perfect 10 yourself!

I doubt anyone could measure up to those two! Especially not Gabe or Don!

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
