The Evils of Caffeine

I made a pot of coffee this morning. Ten cups to be exact. I drank eight of them. I feel....let's see....searching for a descriptor of my feelings......like crap!

I have a caffeine headache, feel sick, and I can't take any pictures without feeling woozy. Took a grand total of ten snaps that I can use.

I am suffering at my own hands here. The only consolation is that I will probably not be able to sleep and will either:
  • Finish my pictures for Dark December Chapter 4
  • Read the final Harry Potter book from cover to cover
If things are really bad, I may end up doing both!

  1. there's always that third alternative....

bash right through the wall, leaving a Gayl shaped hole

and still vibrate for hours while contemplating the interesting aperture

  2. Yes, that is true but then I will be chasing the cat all over the neighborhood instead! LOL!

  4. My daughters both bought the HP book, the first night it came out. Luckily I only had to pay for one copy, well Technically my 16 yr olds, deceased father paid for it.

The 16 yr old, Rachael, went to a HP party at the bookstore with my sister-in-law, and bought it at midnight when the official street date was up. Not surprisingly, she had it finished before the sun came up...about 5 hours later.

I am so glad that so far I have passed on my love of reading to 2 of my offspring. Now I am trying to figure out how to pass it on to my other 2. Boys this time.

I was sorry to hear about the Kitty cat.....hopwe the other one settles in soon...but from experience...it takes a awhile for them to become accustommed to it if they have been allowed to be outside.

A Gayle shape hole in the wall...a new form of art!!!! Maybe I'll try it myself....LOL!!!

  5. Leah, I know what you mean. However, for me there are some books that I insist on purchasing hard bound.

Turns out that my middle son camped out at the Barnes & Noble bookstore and bought one at midnight as well. I ordered mine online months ago. The collector's addition. Some things I tend to indulge in, books being one.

And no spoilers please. This is one book I will not read the last chapter of first! LOL

  6. I am still suffering the residual effects of the caffeine this morning. Didn't sleep much (what a surprise!)

So I am having another cup of coffee! Glutton for punishment I am! There may be several Gayl shaped holes before the week is up. Got 30 pictures done though.....

  7. Not a Harry Potter fan (ok, throw things at me)although I think I've seen most of the movies, but is that the Deathly Hallows book? They were selling them on the table in the grocery store when I stopped by there this morning. Hardbound. The same table they normally use to solicit donations for whatever or sell old bread, LOL!

  8. That's the one!

I rarely indulge in anything for myself. Usually spend on the boys but I HAD to have the collector's edition. Ordered it in advance and it was waiting on my doorstep Saturday morning!

Loved the series because I enjoy her style of writing and love to pick it apart, find meaning in it, etc.

The movies are great; the books are fantastic! And as you know, I love fantasy!

  10. I'm completely lost.

My idea of fantasy is more like "Light" by M. John Harrison. Which I love. When the cat transforms into light and moves in and out of the computer at will, that's just it for me. But then, that really isn't fantasy...

  11. I completely agree Beth. I tend to lump many things into a category I call fantasy. One big folder with many sub-folders I guess.

I could go on and on about what I believe is real and what is not. This includes various forms of what people call fantasy.

Magic, science fiction, faeries, dreams. All of these are based in reality to me. Some form of reality anyway. Perhaps it is just mine.

There are many things that intrigue me about the Potter series. Going from light to dark, the connection between what is perceived as good vs. evil. All the connections that have led up to the last volume that, as I read it, weave together in my mind.

  12. Aaargh! Just deleted the wrong comment - the one that should have stayed up. And of course I never thought of saving the text of that one...
    Well, never mind.

I also deleted the comment I intended to delete and will post that one again with the changes I wanted to make to it ;)

Don't worry, I won't tell you what I read in the spoilers ;)
I just couldn't stand to have to wait yet another year - besides, people would have accidentally told m by then anyway, so why not have the fun of at least reading the spoilers before others get the chance to tell me, hmm?
I'm very bad with books, and dare hardly enter a bookstore. Every time I have the guts to enter one, I end up spending at least 100 euro's on books. (And as you know the euro is worth more than the dollar)
And I love fantasy too. The Belgariad has been my favourite series for over a decade already, and still is. Along with the Malloreon of course...

Thanks for leaving me your thoughts ~ they always mean a lot.

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
