Ever have one of those weeks where you cannot for the life of you remember why you began writing? There are a couple of updates stuck in my head; I've been circling around them, trying to pluck them from their hidey holes to no avail. It's like I've forgotten how to do this writing thing completely. And I've been ridiculously sick which doesn't encourage or inspire the grey matter...
In other news, and I wasn't going to plug this but...meh, whatever, I started doing a sort of photo challenge, not sim-related, 52 Weeks of Whatever. Put my first shot up last week. I chose a theme of music although I also intend to steal a page from Laura who writes Lakeside Heights and use excerpts from my writing as a prompt as well. It's all related in a manner of speaking. Because I am a bit reclusive and anti-social I doubt I will plug them as they post but since I committed myself to a resolution involving photography I'm going to try and stick to it.
Oh yeah, and I am rebuilding...again. *le sigh*
I've had days and weeks and months like that, but then it dawns on me that I have no idea what I'd be doing with my time if I didn't write. Since it's the only area where my interests even slightly intersect with my talents, I'd probably fill that void with a lot of superficial drama-mongering crap and become the sort of person I don't like. But I'm sure you have a wider range of interests and talents than I do--I have seen some of your photography, after all :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better. And good luck with the photo challenge! I considered doing it, but I don't get out enough for many interesting picture opportunities (and whenever I do, it's always raining)--that and I can't find the charger for my camera battery.
Rebuilding again? Yikes :S Hopefully there aren't too many problems there.
Thanks Van! Yes rebuilding again but it isn't as bad as you think. I was finally able to get into my main NB but it still crashes so the CC (for the most part) is clear as long as I don't get careless installing things (which I did). I ran through all the female clothing posted at GoS and when I found something I had installed, I went back and culled - things I never used or, if I had 40 colors, pared it down to a manageable few. I mean how many different reds do you need?
ReplyDeleteI'm rambling...
Thanks about the photos. I hope I can keep up...and...I've been reading your updates...I'm just so far behind I haven't left comments...
*hangs head*
I think we all have those weeks, I find it usually means something is still not quite settled with those ideas. Once you have a better grip on them all that fretting will suddenly give way to writing, planning and looking for more stuff to jamb into your game.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are still fighting with your game :(
I think I should try and outline more, have a more tangible sense of where I am going. And I have too many irons in the fire. When I saw the simfic50 post and went back to look at what I had done, it really hit me. I need to plan it better, all of it, try and divide my time between work, home, life's road blocks and sleep.
ReplyDeleteYour advice on fixing the game was sound and it is mostly small stuff now...and my NB was a little bit corrupt. I do have to mention that thread you pointed me to at MATY...like reading Greek for me. I seriously need someone to explain things slowly...in small simple words...
I have the opposite problem. I can't for the life of me figure out why I STOPPED writing..
ReplyDeleteOutlining is a good process, for sure. But sometimes, it's fun to just write. Like, just force it out and then let it go wherever the wind blows it, you know?
As for your new story, Studio Time, if you need something..you know who to ask ;) I am retarded and got sidetracked last night. I found some 3D models I want to buy for Equus-Sims and I totally forgot to check on my desktop for that studio..but I...really want to build another one with ATS meshes..they seem more friendly..those other instruments came from a forum that I had never been to and I was unsure about them..plus, the recording meshes are kind of outdated anyway ^.^
Just a thought! If you're down for waiting for me to finish it (probably the end of the week or so) then I'm down to build it!
Christina that would be awesome if you could do that but please...I know you have a huge project going on so I don't want you to put yours aside. That said, if you do have some time it would be wonderful. I feel terrible about not finding the other one...
ReplyDeleteI actually decided to use the lot you made for my guy for someone else instead. I have shelved that story for a bit so I am going to use the lot for Blade's ex. She is currently in the bin.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
