I could not decide which of these two shots I liked best so you get both. One thing Beth and I know about our characters is that in order to really get to know them, you need to know their past, their successes, their failures. And in doing that sometimes you uncover things and people you hadn't previously considered but they jump out and grab your attention unexpectedly. Just so with the ladies from Blade's past. We start with the basics, go with the mosaics, and then put the pieces together to form the whole.
The other thing I learned is that bios should be quite organic. Like people. It makes me wonder if it is a mistake to write about them until you have all their bases covered from the past right up until the time frame in which you are telling the story. But then we aren't creating a novel and we clearly bend the rules to suit our needs so maybe that doesn't matter.
And maybe it doesn't matter to anyone but Beth and me but peeling back the layers for people who are not on the canvas shows us a lot. So I guess this is more for us than anything. And bios for these ladies are on our companion blog
HERE. But you already knew that didn't you...look for Blade in the left column and the ex-wives are below that. In order of marriage.
I want to do something with this group. Putting all of them in the same room generated some interesting results.
We are working on the next update. Stepping carefully around each section because we are moving into delicate territory.
