Alive and Kicking

Just a brief note to let anyone who reads this know that I am still here. I've been sick so staying awake has been a challenge. I am behind in my reading but I have not forgotten or abandoned my favorite stories and writers. I just need to play catch-up when I can. Please bear with me.

Also trying to reconcile the game crashes. There is no logical reason behind it so weeding through things has been slow. I appreciate your patience. Beth and I have an update waiting in the wings if either of us can figure out our game issues. Maybe this guy can help if he ever wakes up...

Cold Front

Slowly weeding my way through CC. I haven't deleted much but I did find an entire folder totaling about 940ish files that crash my game. Isolated the folder for later. It makes sense since the files came with a lot I downloaded and that was when everything started going sideways. I don't need the files really. I can redecorate the lot to suit the man that will live there. Still have around 44 folders of CC although it is tens of thousands of files still. Hoping to get through them all tonight so I can be productive. My process goes like this - add a folder, load the game, load the lot, click some objects, browse the catalog (objects and clothes), send a character to a community lot, send them home, test the hacks. We'll see...

Lady in the crappy game camera shot is from the test family that I use in a clean NB. I could not resist actually "playing" a little as I scoped the content. I sent my dude on vacation. He fancies himself a player. He knocked up some Townie (yes I forgot about silent woohoo) and they had a kid. She is preggers again. And having a Bud...

Did you know they smell the flowers in M&G? I didn't. Did you know you can slide down banisters? I didn't. Did you know you can use solar panels and have "green" Sims? I didn't. Playing can be enlightening.

It is raining off and on. Cold. And there is a breeze coming from somewhere in my house that I cannot find. Feels like a door is open. I need to shove towels under the door jam so the cold air stays outside - well I would if I didn't have boys coming in and out all the time. My hands are like ice and my shoulders hurt. Wah! Whine, whine.

Passages - Stray Thoughts Taking Shape

ScreenShot001

A new update at Passages. I love this one, and I am so happy that Beth put it up there. And this might not have been the best choice for an ad shot but I loved the paintings in the background.

Story Feature ~ The Talented Dinuriel

I don't often plug stories that I follow and since I have moved my reading list off this blog to its own page I don't have links that anyone who might stumble here can actually follow unless they looked around. That and the fact that I don't update the list enough for it to be useful prompts me to do this.

I feel fortunate to have found the work of the very talented Dinuriel. She has a refreshing style of writing that incorporates humor, drama, love, loss, and fantasy in a wonderful blend that keeps me coming back for more. Her ability to create worlds, societies, and engaging 3 dimensional characters is most notable. There is a lot of in-depth behind-the-scenes spin-offs and posts that will keep you immersed in her worlds for some time! Please check out her work, you will not regret it.

Dinuriel at LJ
The Kingdom of Naroni
Ashelia at War - First Book Complete
Ashelia at Dusk
Scrawls and Scribblings
Orbis Umbra
In Fair Veronaville
This House is Vegas - Complete

Hope I didn't leave anything off but trust me, you need to follow her links. There is a treasure trove of imagination and talent. Van, I hope this doesn't embarrass you but your work is not to be missed and I wanted to put it out there for anyone who might read this. Hope that's okay.

Blade is moving in on a lot more than just a new house.
Sessions Update Chapter 40: If I Never See Your Face Again

Huge thank you to Beth for capturing these fantastic shots. I'm still sifting through CC.

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
