I don't often plug stories that I follow and since I have moved my reading list off this blog to its own page I don't have links that anyone who might stumble here can actually follow unless they looked around. That and the fact that I don't update the list enough for it to be useful prompts me to do this.
I feel fortunate to have found the work of the very talented Dinuriel. She has a refreshing style of writing that incorporates humor, drama, love, loss, and fantasy in a wonderful blend that keeps me coming back for more. Her ability to create worlds, societies, and engaging 3 dimensional characters is most notable. There is a lot of in-depth behind-the-scenes spin-offs and posts that will keep you immersed in her worlds for some time! Please check out her work, you will not regret it.

Hope I didn't leave anything off but trust me, you need to follow her links. There is a treasure trove of imagination and talent. Van, I hope this doesn't embarrass you but your work is not to be missed and I wanted to put it out there for anyone who might read this. Hope that's okay.

In Perfect Harmony
In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
Awww, thanks Gayl! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm at a bit of a loss for words right now, but can I just say that you've made my day already and I haven't even had breakfast yet? :)
I'm glad you like my work. When I started posting, I had no idea if anyone was ever going to read it, so now two years later, it makes me very happy to know that people are actually getting some enjoyment out of it :D
I very much intend to start reading her work! Is there anywhere I should start reading?
ReplyDeleteYou deserve the attention Van, I only wish this was a better forum to expose your work to a larger audience.
ReplyDeleteI love every word, every character both good and bad, and I've laughed and cried and enjoyed the ride. Thanks for allowing us to travel with you.
You know Lunar, you could probably jump in anywhere. Orbis Umbra is a newer body of work, all of her stories have chapters, places to help you get started. It is easy to become immersed and her chapters are not overwhelmingly long but extremely well done.
