Plugging Along Slowly

I am slowly taking the shots for an update to Rising Above. I can see it pretty clearly in my head but executing the shots has been tedious not to mention a few distractions here and there that cropped up. And I got sick which didn't help so my ability to even look at a computer screen was challenging.

I'm trying to move past Christmas but this piece has to happen in order for the other storylines to progress. Christmas cookies were required and of course when you least expect it, who shows up? Why, Santa of course bringing with him of all things, a stereo. Like they don't already have one...ok I suppose they could have ended up with coal. The good thing that came of it was that I realized Wyatt wasn't dressed according to how I wrote the scene.

I was perusing the GoS list of poses that is maintained by goodbye_sun in search of links for pose boxes I wanted to use and stumbled upon this one. (And by the way, huge thanks to her for keeping this list updated; it isn't an easy task). I saw the link originally in Dinuriel's latest post and meant to follow it at some point but had no idea what a treasure it was! Suffice it to say a certain horse loving character and her man are going on a mini vacation in horse country. I tried this once before but having the additional tools to really make it work will hopefully produce a better shoot than the last one. And yeah, I know that makes absolutely no sense.

Realizing I placed a moratorium on downloading but the pose boxes in question will make shooting this piece easy peasy and since they don't take up a lot of space I am cutting myself some slack and downloading them.

And that is all.

  1. That is such a neat posebox! And really well done, too. Glad you have a use for it--can't wait to see what you do with it. :D

Also really glad to see you're still trudging along! We've all kind of hit a lull lately, LOL.

  2. I'm behind again on everything Mao. I've read some updates but haven't left comments yet. I hate leaving incoherent, meaningless comments. And I need to get this update posted; I don't like the huge gaps in time between posts either but I struggled a bit with this one and wasn't really feeling it.

I was pleasantly surprised at that pose box and how detailed it is. I am looking forward to playing around with it.

  3. I had no idea Santa actually showed up! Those are wonderful shots!

I took at look at the pose box you linked and gasped...I had no idea that existed! A mini vacation in horse country? I won't ask!

  6. No worries S@ndy, I haven't updated Wyatt's story for so long a few days more won't matter other than the fact that I am holding up progress on the other threads...

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
