In music, a bridge is a transitional passage connecting sections of a composition or movement. In heavy metal terms, it is referred to as a breakdown.
Chapter 14 of Dark December is in fact titled Bridge Passage as it connects this past year's writing to next year's. I had intended it to be short, an effort I have never succeeded in, but I am pleased with it and where it will lead when I begin the New Year with my rebuilt neighborhood and new threads of imagination.
I would like to thank each and every person who has read my work. If I have given anyone something to take from it, entertained you, angered you, made you laugh or brought you to tears I will consider it a job well done. It has always been a labor of love that has encountered many forks, twists and turns. It took me places I never would have imagined.
I would especially like to thank Beth who has been my shoulder to cry on, the bearer of the cattle prod when I was stuck, the Lady of the Red Pencil, and most importantly my friend. I thank you Beth, for everything. I would not have accomplished this much without your constant support, encouragement, and friendship…it means so much to me. Thank you from my heart.
Next year will bring more Dark December, more short stories, and hopefully more movies. I wish everyone happiness, peace, and love.
I have never been happier. I think Rafe owns the cattle prod, though -- he certainly used it on me once in a while LOL!
ReplyDeleteEverything you've done has been a constant source of inspiration and joy for me. I cannot thank you enough.
I must admit that I have been one of the readers who has gained a lot of inspiration from the story, "Dark December". It was such a good read, the characters all have such different and unique personalities, and the plot was most definitely unlike any other, the story overall has caught my attention for a long period of time. It has become my new addiction! lol!
ReplyDeleteDark December: Chapter Fourteen was a excellent conclusion, and I am most definitely looking forward to more!
Happy Holidays!
Thanks Indira...I am really happy to hear how much you enjoyed it. I am looking forward to starting up again in the New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays to you too.
Thanks for your hard work this past year and look forward to more, I too have got something from your body of work, I never would have taken Raynor down that emotional roller-coaster he has traveled if not for your (and others) inspiration!
