Feeling the Earth Move

Something I know a little bit about living on two fault lines in California. I just published Dark December Chapter Nine. It's called Tremors. If you have never experienced an earthquake I speak from experience when I tell you it is a terrible, thrilling, and dangerous thing. They roll, jump, shake; never the same but a powerful force. Just when you think you have your footing, off it goes in another direction leaving you off-balance once again. They leave a trail of destruction in their wake, sometimes small and sometimes horrendous.

This chapter is another long one, over 100 shots again. It didn't seem that long when I wrote it. And it was troublesome in many ways, not the least of which was due to the fact that I wrote some scenes in such a way as to make them nearly impossible to shoot. I hope I did justice to the story with them.

I am extremely proud of this one for some reason...Cooper has taken me on some interesting adventures that have twists and turns I didn't expect. But I am enjoying the ride. I hope you do as well.

Speaking of rides, looks like Cooper may take up horseback riding...seems he has taken a fancy to wearing a cowboy hat these days. Don't expect any country music out of him though. This man is a hard core rock legend through and through.

  1. I'll ride up next to him any time...

    Gorgeous, beautiful. Great hat, Cooper....

Rending, difficult for me to read, but absolute one of your best.

  2. Thank you Beth. I could not have done it without your support and encouragement. As always you keep me on track and focused, not to mention how lovely you make my shots look.

So what kind of horse do you think Coop might enjoy riding? He seems extremely interested...

  3. How about an Arabian mare?

They are very responsive, but they are spirited. Need a strong, experienced rider...

    Cooper could probably manage one.

  4. I think he would enjoy that a great deal. Responsive and spirited...I am positive he can manage that.

He loves a challenge...doesn't know much about horses but I think he will hold his own. He's a bit spirited himself.

  6. He does indeed. Of course I am biased, but I think he looks great all the time! Even with bruises, dark circles, stubble...don't get me started on facial hair...

  8. Gayl, I have never felt an earthquake, but if is anything like the tremendous sensation of the building kitty-corner from yours exploding, I don't want to feel it! One horrible experience is enough for me!

That cowboy hat suits Cooper deliciously great! :)

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
