The Night Shift

I don't know if I like how this shot turned out. I may head back to the drawing board.

Do you ever have those moments where you get sparks of creativity but then you cannot rein it in because you are all over the place and then it's gone? That has been happening to me. I finally outlined a few chapters for Chameleon which I would like to update more regularly, found some inspiration for Studio Time, and wanted to do some paintings (similar to the one above) for Danica. Unfortunately I can't seem to keep my attention on one project at a time and so it turns into epic fail.

I am behind on my reading, commenting, photos for the 52 week challenge, everything. I will be working the night shift beginning in April and I can tell you honestly that I am not looking forward to it. At all. Maybe I can get caught up though and maybe I will find some quiet time to write. I wonder...if one does not write on a regular basis and daily, does that make one less of a writer or no writer at all?

  1. "Writer" is just a label. Who cares about that. It's about doing. That's all that counts.

I'm sorry. It all sounds very stressful. It's okay if you're behind. Don't worry about it though. Just do what you can.

(Actually, I'm sort of falling behind too! But ah well. I'm catching up as I can.)

  2. I'm behind on a lot of things too. March has proven to be a very trying month so far. And I definitely hear you on the multiple project thing :S

I get the sense that you've been going through some rough times lately and the night shift seems to have come at an inconvenient point. I hope everything gets better for you soon, and I hope you aren't too worried about catching up. Everyone's stuff will still be online whenever you get around to it.

And as far as I'm concerned, anyone who writes at all is a writer. You don't have to write every day; it's nice, but sometimes, life explodes all over the place and you have to clean up the mess first.

    Feel better soon! *hug*

  3. Thanks Lunar. It is good to be reassured even if it is a label.

Van I am always worried about catching up because I care about the stories I follow and I don't want the writers to think otherwise. Everything seems to be coming at inconvenient times for me...

    Thanks again both of you...

  4. Ugh! I know what you mean Gayl! Night shift for me is the best time to write though so I hope it works out for you as well! Or...just gives you time to breathe!

And I'm sooo behind on everything it's a shame!:( And it's not quantity it's quality when it comes to writing. At least that's what I think! ~*hugs*~

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
