Rising Above

Wyatt Stanfield, Full Circle
Rising Above: Wyatt's Story began on July 10, 2008. The purpose behind it was to tell Wyatt's story, hence the name. There were some ambitious story arcs and I was excited about what I had planned. However, it did not travel down the road I hoped and I just do not have the energy to continue it in the manner I intended. The last post here was nearly a year ago - June 28, 2010. With this post, Chapter 14 ~ Rise Above This, I end it, nearly three years since its inception.

How do you summarize all that you meant to tell in a few words, in one short chapter? It is doubtful that I did it justice. The piece itself follows Studio Time 12 - Complicated and is being posted slightly out of order from the flow of the story arc. It should have been posted there but instead it closes out this chapter in Wyatt's life.

For those of you who followed the story, who cared about this group of college kids, I offer apologies and, from the bottom of my heart, immense thanks.

  1. No need to apologize. We will see them again! You and Beth have this way of pulling all of the stories together for us to give us a glimpse of their lives even when they're not in the spotlight! Thanks for allowing up into Wyatt's life and share his struggles!

  2. Qui they will most likely appear in the main story one way or another. I do feel bad posting this out of turn so to speak but I had an overwhelming need to finish his blog. That and the fact that we are a ways off of finishing our next update...

I can barely keep up with one story and I had several going at once. Something had to give. Unfortunately it was Wyatt.

Thanks so much for the support!

  3. Oh nooo... I better catch up to Studio time to see what happened to Wyatt! First I need to finish Sessions! LOL

I wanted to leave a comment on Wyatt's blog but for some odd reason, I couldn't!

The whole thing with the ex teacher was kind of awkward! I wonder if she is the one who ran over him....she came out of nowhere and then someone tries to kill him!
    hopefully he will be fine!

Hopefully we will be able to see whatever happens to the rest of the group!

you did an amazing job with this story, Gayl!
(you always do, with any story)Thanks for your time and your amazing talent!

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
