Rainy Day People

Came across this song today. Wish I could take credit for the lyrics but I can't, I just felt like posting them.

Suffering from writer's block, not a serious case since I have a general sense of what I want to say but I can't get it out of my head. I'm not sure if it is the writing itself or the thought of how I will take the shots that is holding me back. Going at it again.

Lyrics for the song are below the cut and that's about it so if you don't want to read further, don't feel obligated.

Rainy Day People, ©1975 by Gordon Lightfoot

Rainy day people always seem to know when it's time to call
Rainy day people don't talk
They just listen til they've heard it all
Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell you
They've been down like you
Rainy day people don't mind if you're crying a tear or two

If you get lonely, all you really need is that rainy day love
Rainy day people all know there's no sorrow they can't rise above
Rainy day lovers don't love any others, that would not be kind
Rainy day people all know how it hangs on a piece of mind

Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell you
They've been down there too
Rainy day people don't mind if you're crying a tear or two

Rainy day people always seem to know when you're feeling blue
High stepping strutters who land in the gutter sometime need one too
Take it or leave it, or try to believe it, if you've been down too long
Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside they just pass it on
Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside they just pass it on

Feeling Damned Silly Right Now

I uploaded a couple of shots I did for Chapter 17 of Sessions. I intended to make a magazine cover but honestly I don't really like the shots that much and I especially dislike the pose box I used for this. I did enjoy experimenting in PShop however. And thanks to Phoenix I have those nice backdrops so if I ever get another bug up my butt to do something like this, it will be vastly improved. I am posting the shots on my photo blog since that's what it is there for.

Also posting one I did of Cooper and Beth on their mini vacation. OK not posting ALL the shots I did but the ones Cooper gave me permission to post (like he has any say in the matter, silly man). Since I missed Valentine's Day, these will be my nod to lovers everywhere.

Seeing Through the Fog

There was a lot of fog this morning as I headed out for work. It was actually quite fascinating and I wish I had my camera to grab a shot or two but sadly, I didn't. Exhaustion is something I am familiar with but I haven't felt like my ass has been kicked quite this hard in a couple of years. It would seem things are on the way to becoming "normal" again, whatever that looks like. Although I am not sure I would recognize normal if it kissed me squarely on the mouth. Or maybe this just is what normal is going to be from now on. Who knows?

Yesterday was Valentine's Day. For those of you who celebrate it, my wish for you is that it was a reminder of how much you are loved. As for me, I am simply hoping to get back into the swing of things starting by writing something. With luck I will be caught up on my reading list soon. You guys were certainly busy bees in that area.

It has been a long, emotional and draining week that culminated in a remarkable celebration of life. Thought I would share a picture. It struck a chord with me (no pun intended). I don't recall which song was being played although I think it was Imagine by John Lennon, there was a lot of music. Thanks for hanging in there.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Not sure how the idea developed but I am pretty sure it had something to do with nipples, Jack Daniels and Ryan. Between passing the JD back and forth and pondering the level of inebriation required to do a few things I will not mention, (although some of it was aimed at Gabe) Ladies Night was born.

Go put on some Kool and the Gang and check it out over on Serendipity! I'll warn you it is heavy on images but light on text and a total hoot.

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
