~ Chameleon ~

It has been one year and one week since I last posted to my short stories blog. I have pulled the previous entries and archived them in order to start fresh with cleaner, better shots and hopefully, stronger writing. I doubt I will re-post the other two since I would want to retake the shots and I don't have the characters handy.

At some point I intend to revamp the blog but in the meantime, I did post a piece based on Chameleon. I won't be following any sort of time line so things will probably jump around in time. I am also unofficially following a prompt table from simfic50 just for fun. Since I can't guarantee that I will post these stories regularly, I thought it best to just keep it simple.

The first entry is called Death.

~ Update: Rising Above ~

I puzzled through several titles for this one before settling on Tristamente. This one is short but really ripped at my heart.

~ Update: Through the Lens ~

Because I am so easily distracted with bright, shiny things, I have been practicing using filters and layers in Photoshop. I have posted two photo shoots over at Through the Lens, one of Sienna and one of Ambrosia. I hope to have the other ladies of Chameleon posted at some point but I need to finish decorating the lot.

Here is a teaser of Ambrosia.

Update ~ The Other Side of the Stage

After all the horrible problems I had in Paris I realized that the plans I had for at least two more European venues for Mercury Rising's world tour were not going to work. So the tour is winding down hard and fast.

Once again I want to thank Beth for helping me see this chapter for what it was, pointing out the weak spots, and pushing me when I was struggling to stay focused. You have done so much more than I can ever repay.

I played around with Photoshop and some of the images may be a little inconsistent. I was too tired to go back and fix it. Suggested listening would be Something in Your Mouth by Nickelback or any other raunchy, sexy song you can think of. Which leads me to the part where I tell you that there are mature themes and generally naughty behavior in this one. The chapter is called Climax. Link, with any luck, is on the right.

In this chapter I am introducing some new characters who will eventually appear in a series of short stories I have outlined for when the mood strikes me. Meet the ladies of Chameleon.

Sprawled on the chaise is Ambrosia, a lovely blue eyed brunette from New Orleans. Standing is Sienna, who hails from Reno. Sitting on the couch on the right is Marielle and next to her, Onyx. Both are from California, southern and northern respectively. Stretched out in the center is Rhapsody, currently a platinum blonde from Vancouver. Finally, the ethereal Lyra, our Georgia peach.

The lady of the house and proprietor of Chameleon is Melinda Owen pictured here with her daughter Thalia. Melinda will be the focal point of the piece if I get around to doing it.

~ Update to The Other Side of the Stage ~

Dissonance:
  1. a simultaneous combination of tones conventionally accepted as being in a state of unrest and needing completion.
  2. an unresolved, discordant chord or interval.
  3. disagreement or incongruity.
It is all of the above in this chapter of Dark December. Thanks go once again to my counterpart Beth who took stunning shots to accompany my writing, which I might add also includes some writing of hers as well. Beth I could not do what I do without your constant support.

There is some nudity in it because, well quite frankly, it's Ryan and he is a hottie. So yeah.

Link is here. Chapter 28 ~ Dissonance

For your listening pleasure I have added a song in the post by Alanis Morisette called You Oughta Know. Turn on the speakers if you want to listen. It should start if I added it correctly.

~ Update ~

Dynamic Contrast, the difference between two, usually extreme, dynamics; a technique of abruptly switching between very loud and very soft in a musical composition.

This is a long chapter again, one of those chapters that needed for a lot to be covered in order to move on. And I absolutely have to acknowledge Beth once more for taking every single shot since my PC is hosed. Thankfully it was written before things went bad.

I can't say thank you enough for everything she has done for me. She is an incredibly selfless and giving person and put aside a lot to finish this for me. And that does not even scratch the surface.

This chapter is dedicated to her...

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.
