Announcement - Finally

Meet Thalia Owen, nine year old daughter of Melinda and Damian Owen. Raised by her mother and shielded from her mother's travails as well as her father, a man who never wanted to know her, Thalia is a shy and soft-spoken little girl.

Nearly a year ago I made a decision to attempt (unofficially) the writing prompts from Simfic50. I say unofficially as I don't include word count, summary, etc. but I wanted to use the premise for when I am blocked or just feel like I want to do something different with all the crazy ideas in my head. I already had a blog set up for short stories so I thought I would post there. I took down the previous work (the images were too small) and added a piece based on my Chameleon series which was not going to follow a traditional story timeline; it was simply going to be stand alone pieces based on Melinda Owen, proprietor of the "gentleman's club" called Chameleon. You may have seen photo shoots of her "girls" on my photo blog, Through The Lens.

It has since grown and woven its way into Sessions by way of crossover characters, something I had not intended but ended up happening. Having discussed the future of the story and where I am going with it with Beth, we both agreed that it should become a companion to Sessions. To that end I have created a new blog that will thread in and out of Sessions in a similar fashion to Rising Above and Passages.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story line:

Chapter 1 - Death
Chapter 2 - Beginnings

The pieces are relatively short, the newest one, Chapter 3 - Choice, being a mere 22 screens. It has been written for awhile, just not screen capped. I hope you will enjoy Melinda's journey.

Disclaimer: No tendons were harmed in the posting of this chapter.

  5. Glad to hear that no tendons were injured, LOL! Hope you're still doing well and taking it easy. I will definitely check this out once I'm done drowning in trophies and ACS stuff. Breast Cancer walk tomorrow, woowoo.

You two and all these blogs! You're even overcoming all of mine, LOL.

  6. I didn't know you were on with this at all - goes to show how observant I am sometimes. I have added a link to your site on Simfic50, I know you say its unofficial, but you are using the prompts so its close enough in my book. I'll have to catch up a bit later, but thought I would at least let you know it didn't escape my attention this time.

  7. S@ndy: Thanks! It made sense considering Mel was in The Other Side of the Stage and there was already some crossover. What I have planned for her really fit as a subplot but not important enough for it to be part of the main story since it really doesn't involve Coop.

Mao: Thankfully it was already written and I had some of the shots already taken. You have a lot on your plate; no worries :)

Goodbye_sun: I was sort of hiding in the closet with this. Using the prompts to stretch my writing some. So no worries!

Thanks for leaving me your thoughts ~ they always mean a lot.

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
