It Is Monday, Right?

Just a heads up for anyone who reads these blog posts of mine. Some of you may know I am having surgery on the 14th to repair my left rotator cuff which is 75% torn. I won't bore you with the details except to say that my arm will be immobile for 4-6 weeks which means I will be hunting and pecking at best. I am left-handed so managing anything at all will be a challenge. Especially eating. I've been practicing with my right hand. I have yet to master the skill. Funny how you don't realize how much you use both arms until the use of one is taken away.

B and I have been working on our next update which I hope we can have ready before then. I have also been working off and on to get Rising Above updated as well as posting a piece for the Chameleon series but Sessions is definitely my first priority.

While I will be keeping up with everyone's updates as best as I can, please do not be surprised if my comments are less wordy than normal.

With that I will leave you all with my blogthing for the week!

You Are Fantasy / Sci Fi

You have an amazing imagination, and in your mind, all things are possible.

You are open minded, and you find the future exciting. You crave novelty and progress.

Compared to most people, you are quirky and even a bit eccentric. You have some wacky ideas.

And while you may be a bit off the wall, there's no denying how insightful and creative you are.

  1. I think you'll figure out how to eat LOL. I'd dump my face in the food and chew if I got hungry enough...

I love these quizzes! So you're science fiction? I took it and ended up as humor!

  2. hehe yeah I liked the fantasy part but the Sci Fi had me shaking my head. I almost went back to take it again but that is cheating.

If the boys need to spoon feed me or I have to hire a stud to peel my grapes and feed me, I'll find a way.

  4. I ditto Sandy, let us know, either by smoke signals or semaphore flags how you make out!
    Be thinking of you!

And do let us know how that stud thing works out, I always thought I would want a house boy...muscular enough to peel grapes, of course.

  5. S@ndy, thank you! I won't have much choice but to take it easy! LOL! But I do hope the recovery is fast. I certainly don't mind the time off but being immobile will be difficult.

  6. Drew I will definitely let you all know how it goes one way or another. I have no idea how I am going to feel but based on the meds they gave me for after surgery...well let's just say that if I can string 2 thoughts together I will be doing well.

Yeah stud boy and the grapes...I'll let you know. hehe

  7. I truly sympathesize (I can never get that right) LOL! I am right handed and had shoulder surgery last year on my right shoulder. It isnt so bad so long as you dont move! I had to put the mouse on my lap and then hunt and peck with my left. And no worries about comments! take care of yourself and feel better.

  8. Hehe, just saw your comment on your after meds... Yeah stringing one syllable together is a chore at best. I literally slept a month straight. 80) and of course read about a zillion books. 80)

  9. I hope all goes will for you with the surgery. I am a fellow lefty so I understand your plight. I don't now how I would function just using that "other" hand. Best of luck.

  10. Thanks Cherie! Err, don't move? I'm still trying to practice getting my body to move like a right-handed person. I mean even the body favors the right or the left depending on what you are. NOT looking forward to it.

  11. Muzegoddess, thanks! So far I have mastered brushing my hair (as long as it isn't wet) My hair is long so getting a comb or brush through it, getting it off my face and pulled back...tricky. I'm sure it will be fine though! At least I don't need to dress up...or wear a bra...hehe

  12. I am sure you will be back to your self soon!!!

I only say dont move because the first two weeks will bring tears to your eyes, then again I am a wimp when it comes to dealing with being immobile. 80)

I learned really quickly, dont go out unless absolutely necessary and then only because you cant get another to do it for you. 80)

I too have long hair and when I went through my surgery it was in the middle of my back (have since cut it due to that experience) LOL! I kept it in an 80's style over the shoulder pony. Much easier because the only I could brush was the top and the ends so therefor I used my one hand and did my best. 80) Plus it didnt knot up so bad when I conked out.

If you have any questions then I will give you any answers I can! I just hope you arent stuck with a pain pump and have a fear of needles. (like me) 80) when it came time for me to remove it (per doctors orders) I had to do it myself. All my family took one look at my request and said "HELL NO!"

Ok so I am not necessarily the nicest person when in pain LOL! Now on that hand it didnt hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would, actually it didnt at all. 80) (I over reactes)

Shower wise, bags and tape do not work, so dont bother! keep your injured shoulder away from the water, and drape it with a piece of saranwrap to keep it dry (do not put under the water or remotely near). Then use a damp wash cloth and gently dab the area to clean it. 80)

DO NOT bother washing your hair for at least three weeks unless you can get someone to do it for you. Or go to the salon 80) your shoulder will only scream at you and well if your like me and have a specific shampoo so will your hairdresser. LOL!

On a serious note if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to shoot me an email. I would and will gladly give answers. 80)

  13. Don't wash my hair??? Gross! I will make the boys do it in the kitchen sink. I won't have any problem staying home however. I love sending the boys on errands. And I am thoroughly going to enjoy watching them wash and fold clothes! And clean the house, do the dishes, cook dinner...they are masters at the grill.

Seriously though, I am sure I will be fine after a few days.

In Perfect Harmony

In June of 2007 I posted my first chapter of Dark December. Since that time, the story has evolved and changed in part through a collaboration that developed and lasted over 4 years. During this time a friendship was forged. Thank you Beth, for unwavering friendship, support, and generosity over these last 4+ years. It has been a journey I will never forget.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In dreams, the sun sets in our eyes
In dreams, we'll never be apart
In dreams, I'll promise you'll never be alone
How much I wish your voice could send me home
